Jau otro gadu pēc kārtas Dream Foundation Latvija organizē 'Lielo ceļošanas kampaņu' - konkursu, kura uzvarētājs saņem iespēju kopā ar kādu no draugiem apciemot vienu no Dream Foundation sadarbības universitātēm ārvalstīs.
Pagājušā gada konkursa uzvarētāja Viola Maido devās uz Stenden Universitāti Nīderlandē. Rezultātā viņai tur tik ļoti iepatikās, ka šobrīd viņa turpina savas studijas tieši šajā unviersitātē. Lasi Violas stāstu par ceļojumu un iespaidiem!
Ja tu arī vēlies piedzīvot ko līdzīgu, droši piesakies konkursam līdz 7.03.! Noteikumi un reģistrācija: https://dreamfoundation.eu/check-in
Dear readers,
I am a girl who took part in the competition
organized by “DreamFoundation Latvia”
and I had a chance to visit my dream university. I decided to go to the Stenden
University of Applied Sciences, which is located in the north part of the Netherlands.
I have no regrets about my choice because we had an amazing time there.
Firstly, I would like to pay attention to the
fact that the organisational part of the tour was perfectly thought-out. We had
no time to be bored. Thanks to Stenden and DreamFoundation!
On 12 June, when we got to Leeuwarden (the city
where the Stenden University is located), we went to have dinner together with
the representative of the university. Although it was the first time we met
each other, we got on perfectly with each other, talking about my future plans,
the university, my study programme, different experiences from other students,
the practical matters, studying abroad and other things. Our meal was in a
really luxurious restaurant which is located in the city centre. The city is
very small and full of canals, which reminded a typical view of Venice.
A little bit about my study programme. I have
always been creative-minded person and that’s why I decided to study Media and Entertainment
management. This is a study programme which is oriented on active people who
want to develop their career as international media managers. That includes all
the media sectors: new media, music, print and audio-visual. You can also learn
how to organize a job in a broadcasting company as a publisher, entertainment
company or as an event organizer.
The most interesting thing for me was the structure of this programme – firstly, the model of studies - problem based learning. It means that students learn about the subject in context of complex, multifaceted and realistic problems. Secondly, I was excited about the practically oriented assignments, which help students to understand how to bring all the skills learnt from the lectures into effect.

The Stenden University is an internationally oriented institution with sites in The Netherlands, Bali, Thailand, South Africa and Qatar. The university has more than 11 000 students from 85 countries around the world. The brightest impression for me was the programme’s equipment and the variety among international students. Studying in an international environment definitely helps students to become understanding and successful group members.
Media and Entertainment students have to study
both theoretically and practically. For instance, I went to the local party
organized by students from this faculty. The assignment was to arrange everything for the local club’s party. The
students had to work in different sectors: financial, organizational, and
technical. They had to think about quests mood, music and lights. All in all –
they were responsible from the beginning till the end. This is the main idea of
growing up knowledgeable and practically oriented students.
Finally, I would like to say that I have no doubts
that this is my dream university.
